Home Tour

I had all these great plans to take professionalish (that’s a word, right?) photos of the house before, during and after each project. Fast forward two years, a couple major renos and a million little projects later, and guess what? I dropped the ball big time. I promise it won’t happen again, but unfortunately I haven’t invented that time machine yet so we’ll have to make due with several phone pics of what our house used to look like. Fortunately (kind of) our house is still 95% in a “before” state. So, I’ll get on the picture taking right now.

The exterior hasn’t changed enough to warrant after pictures just yet. We removed the storm door on the front, painted the main front door, and replaced the light fixture (seen in the second “before” picture), cleaned up the yard quite a bit and added a garden along the back fence. There is a still a LONG list of things to do out here. It’s going to be AMAZING…some day.

This entrance has made some major progress, but it is constantly evolving (It’s actually changed since I took these pictures about a week ago).

It’s all about the fireplace in this room. More details on the living room here, here and here.

Dining RoomiphonepicsAug2014 091

The dining room will eventually be the main part of the kitchen…you’ll understand why once you see the kitchen. Check out more on the dining room here, here and here.

This kitchen may win the award for world’s smallest, but we have BIG plans. Now, I’m off to rob a bank so we can afford it. We have replaced the floor, but this kitchen is not worthy of an after shot just yet.

This baby was a complete gut job. Check out the powder room reno post here.

Nothing has happened in this hallway yet. It’s small and there are a lot of doors, so there won’t be much in terms of decor, but new doors, floors and paint will make it so nice!

Guest Room/Office

We haven’t done anything in this room yet, but it will be the guest room/office. It will be a challenging one because it’s so tiny. Right now it is a storage space for all kinds of things.

Mickey’s Room

Some new floors and trim, and this baby is done…until we turn it in to a big girl’s room.

Master Bedroom

I cannot believe I don’t have a before picture of this room! I will keep searching but for now, imagine pink walls and brass (cheap, yellow, old brass, not cool solid brass) chandelier type sconces.

Like all of the rooms on the top floor, the master bedroom still needs new floors, trim and doors but it is a major improvement in here.

Isla’s Room

I have searched everywhere for before pictures of this room. I’m going to keep looking. This was actually my favourite room, just how it was. There was some cool black wallpaper that had silver branches on it, and a really funky pendant light. Unfortunately though they were both covered in tobacco so we ripped them out.

Main Bathroom

We had to tear out the shower and tub because of some loose tiles and a possible leak. There is still lots to do in the bathroom though, so you just get a sneak peek for now.

iphonepicsAug2014 239This is the basement that we all had nightmares about as kids. Shaun has built a wall and shelves for storage, but for the most part, this basement is still pretty scary.
